"American Idol" alum Scotty McCreery took an embarrassing spill on Friday night when he opened a show for country singer Brad Paisley, quickly brushing it off though with a sense of humor. Upon mistaking thin air for the end of the concert stage, the 18-year-old wound up falling onto the ground below at the Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel, NY.

The baritone singer had been performing a cover of Travis Tritt's "T.R.O.U.B.L.E" when the hurtful blunder had transpired, according to the radio station 100.3 KILT. McCreery responded to the incident by humorously posting the following on Twitter:

"Dagum @BradPaisley pranked me again.. he narrowed up the stage on me for my last song..... #MeetTheCrowdNight #ImOk"

In another tweet, the North Carolina native also wrote about a funny picture that Paisley had sent him:

"@BradPaisley wanted me to be extra cautious tonight! Thanks Brad!"

McCreery is actually the first "American Idol" winner that was born in the 1990's. His debut album was launched in October 2011 and went certified platinum across the United States, selling over 1 million albums and 1.6 million singles respectively. Two of the tracks include top 20 country songs "I Love You This Big" and "The Trouble with Girls," which were each reportedly downloaded over 500,000 times, according to The Inquistr.
