'Masters Of Sex' Spoilers: The Drama Of The 60s Slated To Play A Role In Season 3 [VIDEO]
Masters of Sex season 3 is set to premiere in mid-2015, but there has been information coming out about the direction of the show.
Season 2 lept into the early 60s and the political climite of the time period will definitely be in the background of season 3, Fashion & Style reported on Friday.
Bill and Virginia were last seen holding each other during President John F. Kennedy's 1961 inauguration speech. As historians know, Kennedy's marital infidelities were hush-hush but well known. Some television critics believe the politics of the early 1960s will mirror Bill and Virginia's work and relationship.

At this point, the scientists begin focusing more on helping real people with their sexual problems. This will become Bill and Virginia's focus as the season continues.
The real-life Masters and Johnson released their first major research paper, "Human Sexual Response" in 1966, catapulting them into the spotlight. Showrunner Michelle Ashford recently confirmed that the release of this paper would emerge during season 3. This has led fans to believe that there will, indeed, be another time jump at the beginning of the season.
In addition, Ashford spoke of how the '60s as a generation would influence the show as well as the cast:
"There are a couple things that just have to be there for the 1960s," she said. "You have to get into the issues of race. There's no way the Vietnam War doesn't raise its head in some form and the women's movement and things like rock and roll."
Masters of Sex season 3 premieres on Showtime in the summer of 2015. Fans can catch up with seasons 1 and 2 airing on Showtime OnDemand.
