Will native Chicagoan Jenny McCarthy still be a Bears fan?

McCarthy, who was relatively coy about her relationship with Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher, opened up with the press and said the two have split up.

"Brian and I have decided to turn our romance into an amazing friendship," the 39-year-old "Playboy" cover model said to People magazine in a statement. "I will continue to be the biggest cheerleader for him. Go, Bears!"

Until she began to date Urlacher, McCarthy had been mum about her romantic life after she admitted to being in a relationship with Boston sports agent Paul Krepelka in Dec. 2010, reported People magazine.

In mid-April she confessed, "I'm interested in someone." When a reporter asked if she had eyes for a certain football player, McCarthy laughed and said, "I don't know what you guys are talking about. Um, you know, we shall see."

Around that same time, McCarthy told Parade magazine, "I'm taking baby steps ... But I'm giddy right now."

McCarthy officially announced their relationship on May 24 to Chicago's NBC 5, reported People magazine. "I can confirm that yes it's true, we are dating," she said. "Go Bears! That's all I'll say."

When she was without a beau, McCarthy was able to acclimate to single life. "It took awhile," she told People magazine in April. "I felt like, 'Oh, I'm so alone I have to be with somebody' ... But I got to a place where I was like ... I'm happy with myself. I don't need to have a lover to have love in my life."
