Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner Not Attending "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn-Part 2" Conventions
Promotion for "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn-Part 2" will scale back significantly- the film's lead stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner will not attend the conventions for the final picture of the "Twilight" series.
"Rob, Kristen and Taylor will not be with us this time out we will have a super line-up of other "Twilight" stars and the weekend will be filled with special events, movie prop and costume displays, contests, panels, auctions, parties, exclusive merchandise, music and much more, including some surprises!" said a statement from Creation Entertainment.
"Twilight" die-hard fans, nicknamed "Twi-hards," anticipated seeing the film's lead stars attend the gatherings individually, even if not in a group. Stewart, Pattinson and Lautner have attended previous conventions together. As a trio they have met fans in person and signed autographs to promote the films.
"Twilight" stars scheduled to attend the upcoming meet-and-greet events include Peter Facinelli, Booboo Stewart, Charlie Bewley and Alex Meraz.
The conventions are scheduled for the weekends of August 25 in San Antonio, September 29 in Detroit, October 5 in Parsippany, NJ and November 3 in Los Angeles.
Stewart has not stepped out in public since she apologized for cheating on her boyfriend and "Twilight" co-star Robert Pattinson. US Weekly ran exclusive photos of the 22 year-old kissing Rupert Sanders, who directed her in "Snow White and the Huntsman" and is a married father of two childrren.
Universal Studios has cancelled plans for a "Snow White and the Huntsman" sequel. The company will focus on a solo spinoff film spotlighting Chris Hemsworth instead.
Lautner has been filming "Grownups 2" in Boston with Adam Sandler and Salma Hayek.
Pattinson recently completed a three day trip in New York last week to promote his independent film "Cosmopolis" which arrived in theaters Aug. 17. He appeared on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart", attended the movie's red carpet premiere and sat down for a live interview on "Good Morning America". The British actor avoided all questions regarding his breakup with Stewart.
