‘Red Band Society’ Cancelled? Petition To Save FOX Show From Cancellation Continues Gaining Momentum, Series Has A Strong Chance At Returning? [PHOTO]
2015 could bring good news for fans of FOX's Red Band Society after all, despite the show being constantly reported as cancelled.
Will Fans Ever Get Closure For 'Red Band Society?'
A change.org petition to have FOX reverse their decision on the show's fate has steadily gathered support and is now extremely close to its goal of 20,000 signatures-which could be a good sign for fans hoping that the show would be resurrected.
As of press time, the petition has grown to a whopping 19,204 signatures since it was started on Nov. 21-and has received nearly 2,000 additional supporters since Dec. 25 alone, showing that the fans who have fallen in love with the show aren't going to let it go without a pretty serious fight.
Was 'Red Band Society' Secretly Renewed For Season 2?
Some of the reasons fans have given for signing the petition have included the show's ability to prove that disease does not define a person, as well as the fact that it brings together a loyal group of supporters with each individual episode.
Some of the show's cast members have also encouraged their fans not to give up hope on the show, and have even tweeted about the petition for themselves, reminding the "Red Banders" to sign if they wanted the show to continue.
The latest to share the petition with fans is Thomas Ian Nicholas, who portrayed Charlie's (Griffin Gluck) father in a few episodes.
"Please sign the petition to keep #RedBandSociety on the air. Need 7k more signatures," he wrote on his Twitter page Dec. 26.
FOX halted production on the freshman drama series back in November, keeping the show at its initial 13 episode order. The tenth episode aired earlier in December and the show has not appeared on FOX's spring schedule, leaving the fate of the final three episodes of the season undetermined.
Fans who want to also do their part without signing the petition can continue tweeting #saveredbandsociety as well.
