Justin Bieber took to his Twitter account on Monday, Aug. 20 to reveal news about his cameo on "The Simpsons." The 18-year-old "Boyfriend" singer will appear as himself in the hit animated series.

"Just did a voice over for the SIMPSONS!!! #swaggy," Bieber tweeted. Later, however, he deleted the tweet sent out to his 27 million followers, most likely realizing he spoiled a great surprise.

The executive producer of "The Simpsons," Al Jean, followed up shortly after Bieber, explaining more about his role.

"It's a cameo. But all of his fans should watch every minute of the show, before and after he's on," Jean said. "He tries to get into a talent show that Bart is playing piano in and they won't admit him.Draw your own conclusions."

The episode in which Bieber will make his appearance is called "The Fabulous Faker Boy" and is scheduled to air in 2013.

"The Simpsons" debuted in 1989 and is the longest running American sitcom, American animated program, and the longest running primetime and scripted television series as of 2009. The show has been honored with numerous awards including 27 Primetime Emmy Awards throughout more than 500 episdoes and 23 seasons.

The new season, which begins on Sept. 30, will feature more guest stars including Ed Norton, Steve Carell, Zooey Deschanel, Anne Hathaway and Natalie Portman.
