The leaked pictures of Prince Harry nude has fueled a debate on whether his security detail is to blame for the photos being taken.

Radar Online reported that the prince is furious at his royal aides for not protecting him.

"Harry cannot believe that his 24-hour royally-appointed security allowed this to happen," a source told Radar Online. "When revelers are invited back to the suite of any famous celebrity for a party, you would expect any recording equipment like cameras or phones to be confiscated by the bodyguards."

"His security team is paid for with tax-payers money, and they fly all around the world with Harry making sure he stays out of trouble and doesn't get hurt," the source added. "However, like Harry they were caught with their pants down and as a result another royal scandal has dominated the world news."

According to TMZ, the ladies who took the photos on their mobile phones were not asked by Harry's royal aides to hand over their cellphones. Witnesses at the Las Vegas party told the website that when the girls began taking pictures, his security team said nonchalantly, "awww, come on, no photos.' "

When the party became wild and people began shedding their clothes, his royal handlers "did nothing" to stop it, said the source.

Another insider, who works in the Las Vegas VIP social scene and is familiar with similar scenarios, told TMZ it's a situation that could have been prevented.

"Harry's team acted like a bunch of amateurs," the insider stated.

The Telegraph reported that Prince Harry had Scotland Yard officers present and that his security detail should accept full responsibility for the scandal.

Bernard Hogan-Howe, the commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, told publication, "Royal protection officers are there to protect him for security reasons. They are not there to regulate his life."

According to several reports, Prince Harry invited a group of people to his three-bedroom suite at the Wynn and Encore Hotel after attending a pool party. When the party became more raucous, the 27-year-old was photographed hugging a naked young woman from behind as she is holding a pool cue during a game of strip billiards. In another photograph, Harry is covering up his genitals with his hands while only wearing his watch and a thin necklace. Both photos were taken on a mobile phone and sold for approximately $14,000, according to The Telegraph.

TMZ published Prince Harry's nude photos on Tuesday, Aug.21. The royal family has since then confirmed it indeed is the prince in the photos.

An official statement regarding the incident has not yet been released from St. James' Palace but the royal family has hired a law firm to send out letters to British media asking them not to publish the photos.
