Jef Holm, 'Bachelorette' Emily Maynard Fiance, Still Denies Cheating Accusations; Says Brother Does 'Hurtful Things' [UPDATE]
Jef Holm, fiancé of "Bachelorette" star Emily Maynard, was hurt - but not surprised- that his brother Mike confirmed US Weekly's cover story that accused Maynard of cheating on Holm.
His brother's claim came just one day after the couple vehemently denied the allegations to People magazine.
"My family all says they are shocked, and obviously I'm shocked," Holm told People magazine on Aug. 24. "But if everybody knew the history he had with our family, no one would be surprised."
Us Weekly reported that over the Aug. 18 weekend, Holm took Maynard's phone and discovered she had been having an affair with another man. The scene took place at a vacation rental in Myrtle Beach, S.C., where Holm took Maynard and Ricki, her daughter, to meet his extended family.
"There were texts and pictures: 'Let's do this and that to each other,' " a source told Us Weekly. "Jef and Emily went into a bedroom and were yelling. He said 'you've been f*cking cheating on me for months!' "
According to the source, Maynard did not want to lose Holm and pleaded with him, but he told her to "pack her sh*t and get the f*ck out." The report claimed Ricki and Maynard left the family compound at 1 a.m.
On Aug. 23, Holm's brother Mike told Us Weekly, "I was there and I heard the fight and watched the whole thing go down, Emily leaving and everything."
However, Holm affirms that "this whole story is 100 percent false."
"I like to give Mike the benefit of the doubt and think he's changed, but obviously he hasn't. He has a history of doing hurtful things to the family," Holm said. "He's been cut off from a lot of family things because he's so dishonest."
Mike declined to comment to People magazine. When cheating reports first surfaced earlier this week, Holm said, "I called every single member of my family and asked them if they'd done anything, and he promised me he hadn't."
On Thursday, he tweeted, "It's crazy what people will do, even family members, to see their name in a magazine."
Holm reiterated a similar sentiment to People magazine: "It's so disturbing to think that a family member would do this." But the reality star added, "as hurt as I am, I love him and I love my family."
