Fans were devastated to learn that after the final three episodes of Red Band Society air the series would be over, but that hasn't kept them from still trying to see if there is any way possible to get the show revived and back on the air.

The #saveredbandsociety movement is still going strong on social media, and fans are still working on signing a petition on change.org, which has grown to include over 29,000 signatures-and it appears fans have seized on the fact that FOX reportedly tried to find several ways to save the show before ultimately pulling the plug.

Deadline initially reported that FOX initially offered the series a summer run after its soft ratings kept it from still keeping its primetime spot-but met resistance from ABC studios because of the reduced licensing fee that would come with it because the show had been developed and budgeted for a standard network airing. FOX reportedly then tried to shop the show to other networks, but had no buyers.

However, despite the news, fans are still working to try and have the decision about the show reversed.

The series showrunner, Rina Mimoun previously encouraged fans to fight for the show's return as much as they could-noting that fervent fan bases have helped bring other shows back as well.

"That is how these shows come back-because there is momentum from the people who love it," she said at the time. "When fans fight, it forces the network to say 'OK, wait a minute. Let's rewatch. Let's look at all the numbers. Let's look at the live [numbers]. Let's look at the DVR's.' And that's the theme of Red Band: 'Don't give up.'"

The show's final episodes are scheduled to air on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 9 p.m., and Saturday, Feb. 7 at 8 and 9 p.m. on FOX.
