'Glee' Flashing Back To 2009 To Explore Why Rachel, Kurt & More Joined New Directions

Fox has released a new plot synopsis for Child Star, the ninth episode of the season, in which Sue's (Jane Lynch) crush on Superintendent Harris (Christopher Cousins) leads to her opening up the auditorium to his nephew, Myron for his upcoming Bar Mitzvah. Myron is also able to enlist in the New Directions for help.

"Will [Matthew Morrison] and Rachel [Lea Michele] seize the opportunity in the hopes it will help the glee-clubbers bond in preparation for Sectionals," the synopsis reads.

Meanwhile, some of the newer glee club members will take center stage for their own storylines in this episode. This includes Roderick (Noah Guthrie), Spencer (Marshall Williams), Jane (Samantha Marie Ware), Mason (Billy Lewis Jr.) and Madison (Laura Dreyfuss).

"Despite their obvious differences, gleeks Roderick and Spencer discover they have something in common... they each need the other's help to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles," the synopsis reads. "While the doughy Roderick is in desperate straits trying to measure up to the rigorous physical standards Sue demands of her students, Spencer is equally desperate to catch the eye of Roderick's bookish lab partner, who seems utterly unimpressed with the gay jock. The two strike an unlikely alliance, but they make minimal progress in their tasks until fate intervenes and an act of faith takes center stage."

Meanwhile, Mason finds himself "frustrated" as Madison continues to thwart his flirting with Jane, which ends up "forcing him to finally stand up for himself, with unexpected results."

This episode is slated to air Friday, Feb. 27 in the regular Glee timeslot.

Glee airs Fridays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
