June Shannon and her family are collectively winning the ratings battle on their TLC reality television show simply by being themselves. However, before the unprecedented success of "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo," the 33-year-old reportedly was very close to giving up one of the family members for adoption.

Just fifteen at the time, a pregnant Shannon had allegedly asked four relatives if they would primarily care for her very first baby Anna "Chickadee" Thompson. Sister-in-law Janice Shannon, stated that she and late husband Jimmy were willing to oblige, but the scenario never came to fruition as Mama June ultimately kept custody.

It is being said that Anna, now 18, and a parent herself to 2 month old Kaitlyn, doesn't have a good relationship with Mama June. She supposedly only agreed to moving back in the home to be on the TLC reality program.

Caleb Clark, Anna's ex-boyfriend of two years and the father of her daughter, had spoken to the National Inquirer regarding the family's relationship with the young mother.

"Anna was in her grandmother's custody, but she was still desperate to get away from June officially. June was a lousy mother to Anna. You can see it. Anna still resents June and stands apart from the rest of the family. When the cameras are turned off, Anna doesn't have much to do with any of them."

Clark is currently seeking custody of Kaitlyn in order to "get her out of that house and away from that family." However, he can't take any legal action because Anna won't agree to submit to a paternity test.

"Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" is a program that revolves around the family and life of kiddie beauty pageant contestant Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson. While most girls at the age of six are playing with dolls and toys, Honey Boo Boo is competing on stages.

During the show, cameras follow the Shannon-Thompson family living life on a budget in the small town of McIntyre, Ga. Its Aug. 9 show was viewed by nearly 3 million people, which shockingly beat out both the Republican National Convention and vice presidential hopeful Paul Ryan's speech.
