'CSI: Cyber' CBS: James Van Der Beek To Bring The Action, Actor Previews FBI Agent Elijah Mundo [VIDEO]
CSI: Cyber will not leave its heroes basking in the cold glow of the computer screens for hours on end. Instead, the series will bring the action in the form of James Van Der Beek.
An FBI agent partnered with the bureau's Cyber Crime Division, Van Der Beek's Elijah Mundo will provide the brawn counterpart to Special Agent Avery Ryan's (Patricia Arquette) cyber psychology prowess. In other words, don't let the title fool you into thinking that gunfights and fast-paced chase scenes are off the menu.
"Four people staring at a screen for 47½ minutes is not compelling television," Van Der Beek informed Newsweek, "which is where I come in."
Following last year's CSI: Crime Scene Investigation backdoor pilot, the series will make its CBS debut on March 4 with "Kidnapping 2.0." When hackers utilize high-tech baby monitors in order to kidnap a baby, the Cyber Crime unit will be brought in to bring the youngster home.
The series will then follow up the premiere with "CMMD:Crash," "Killer en Route," and "Fire Code."
