‘Sister Wives’ Cast: Family Speaks Up After Emotional Season Finale, Talks New Struggles To Make Robyn’s Kids Officially Kody’s [PHOTO]
The reasons behind the shocking Sister Wives divorce have finally been revealed and addressed, and now the Brown family is ready to begin the next chapter of their lives with a new structure in their system and dynamic.
Kody Considers Quitting 'Sister Wives'
Kody's first wife, Meri, officially divorced Kody in the show's March 1 season finale, freeing him up to legally marry fourth wife Robyn so he could petition to legally adopt her three children from a previous marriage and provide them with benefits they couldn't otherwise receive. Kody and Robyn have since legally married, meaning the next parts of the battle are set to begin.
In the episode, Robyn revealed it would be a three-step process for Kody to officially become Dayton, Aurora and Breanna's father, starting with his divorce and legal remarriage. Now, the family will need to convince Robyn's ex-husband to give up his paternal rights, and a judge will need to approve Kody as their legal father.
Kody Faces Shocking Allegations Of Favoring Some Children Over Others
And while fans were still skeptical about the reasons behind the divorce, the members of the family still took to their Twitter accounts during the 2-hour special (which also featured a tell-all) , to defend their ultimate decision and maintain that there were no other motives.
Those 3 amazing kids have not seen their bio father for nearly 2 years. Kody is their dad for all intents and purposes. #SisterWives

Dayton, Aurora & Breanna need to have the last name BROWN!! #SisterWives — Meri Brown (@MeriBrown1) March 2, 2015
The legal paper for me is SOOOO much less important than those kids being legally ours!! #SisterWives

Why wouldn't the guy who takes care of them get claim them?? Kody is their dad, & I'm one of their moms! #SisterWives — Meri Brown (@MeriBrown1) March 2, 2015
Unity for the family. That's what this is all about. Believe it or not. #SisterWives

I love @MeriBrown1 We understand our Marriage Covenant remains the same. This is a "paperwork" shuffle. Meri still 1st wife. #SisterWives — Kody Brown (@realkodybrown) March 2, 2015
This "paper/legal shuffle" was 100% @MeriBrown1 's idea. She sees it as a gift to help appropriately organize our family. #SisterWives

The thing that seems hard for people to understand is this doesn't change anything in our family. Please try to see this is our reality. — Robyn Brown (@LuvgvsUwngs) March 2, 2015
And though Kody and Robyn kept their Twitter discussions more about the decision behind the divorce and restructuring, Meri also made sure that fans understood she wasn't leaving the family at all-and that Robyn was not going to suddenly be in control of the family.
This will throw you for a loop, I've never been lost! My place is in my family. I'm not going anywhere. They're stuck with me! #SisterWives

The 4 of us wives have the same amount of power. We are equals. The time we came into the family has no bearing on "power". #SisterWives — Meri Brown (@MeriBrown1) March 2, 2015
Yep! @realkodybrown and I will still be celebrating our 25th anniversary in a couple months. #SisterWives
