The hit television show "How I Met Your Mother," delivered as usual with its season 8 premiere on Sept. 24. In the opening episode titled "Farhampton," the plot brought its viewers into the future, back to the past, and then into the future yet again. The interesting dynamic of the sitcom presented its audience with a plethora of different plot points.

One storyline revolved around Lily and Marshall not being able to be there for their closest friends. Always looking after their new baby in unison, the idea that both of them didn't have to watch their cribbed little one at once never dawned on them. This led to a comedic punch line in the show where the couple continuously repeated themselves.

The last the audience saw of Ted and Victoria, they were in a loving relationship and driving into the sunset together. However, their future brought a shocking change, as Victoria is close to tying the knot to another man, Klaus. Ted ends up wanting Victoria to skip the wedding, but not without her writing a proper breakup letter to the fiancé. He was appalled to find out that she had not informed Klaus.

Victoria did end up wearing her wedding gown for the complete episode, which served to bring some comic relief.

Not one to take the fall as a rebound guy, Ted goes against his usual over-analytical antics to woo Victoria once again. Hence, it was perplexing to see Ted not giving much thought to the controversial move to halt the near bride from tying the knot.

"How I Met Your Mother" will be airing its next episode on Monday, Oct. 1 at 8 PM ET on the CBS network.
