Somers is one of 12 new celebrities set to compete on ABC's Dancing With the Stars for season 20. Partnered with pro Tony Dovolani, Somers recently wrote a blog entry through People about her experience with the show so far.

"I have never had a dance lesson in my life," Somers admitted in the blog. "Then again, I never had a comedy class before I did Three's Company. So far, it's only been one week, and I am already feeling my body responding and getting stronger."

Upcoming 'Dancing With the Stars' Contestant Admits She's Never Seen The Show

She opened up about how Dancing With the Stars has called her in the past to do the show but it was only this year that the stars aligned. The actress is set to be in a stage show and considers this to be good practice for stamina and getting in shape.

Somers admitted that she did have some blisters and had to patch up with bandages in the first few days, but they soon broke through are continuing to rehearse through the week.

"I am not worried about injury. I do an hour of yoga before I rehearse so I am all stretched out and limber and ready to dance. Besides, worry is a prayer you don't want," she noted. "I am loving the opportunity to meet a real challenge. That rarely surfaces in my business since pretty much everything I do, from television to stage to lecturing, is well within my comfort zone. This is not even close to my comfort zone!"

At the end of the day, Somers hopes to leave Dancing With the Stars as a trained dancer "rather than an entertainer who dances." It remains to be seen how well Somers will do in the competition, but her drive suggests that she has potential to go far.

Dancing With the Stars season 20 begins Monday, March 16 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
