'Dexter' Season 7 Premiere Spoilers, The Secret Is Out! [Trailer Video]
After a painfully long wait, the Showtime hit series "Dexter" finally returns for its seventh season on Sunday night. The highly anticipated serial-killer drama is set to break new ground this year, as Dexter's considerably well kept secret of revenge killings will inadvertently be revealed.
The end of season six saw the blood splatter analyst up to his usual killer antics. However, he was forced to deliver a more personal form of revenge by killing Travis (Colin Hanks), who had kidnapped his son Harrison. The Doomsday killer was set to pick up and leave Miami, but Dexter wanted to assure that he never struck again. In the process, Dexter found himself in a surprisingly rare situation when Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) walked in to witness her brother's long time ritual. Adding insult to injury, she was about to profess the love she had for her fellow adopted sibling.
However, Deb's reaction wasn't the only thing on Dexter's mind. News regarding the re-emergence of the Bay Harbor Butcher in town had also surfaced. Dexter had framed and slayed the corrupt Doakes (Erik King) in season one for one of the many vigilante killings he committed.
Dexter's executive producer Sara Colleton recently spoke to TV Guide about what's in store for Dexter Morgan in the upcoming seventh season of the mainstay show.
"It's about things he's never experienced before, which are regret, responsibility, shame, betrayal, all of those things. Also, it's the flip side of wanting to be known, and then once you are known, there's a loss of freedom. It comes with heavy responsibility, so he's dealing with a lot of emotions that he's never had before, and never been allowed to feel before or allowed himself to feel before."
"Dexter" season seven will be premiering on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 9PM ET on Showtime.
