The NBC psychological thriller will open the summer season with "Antipasto" and the series' return will jump around the temporal highway as fans are reunited with the cannibalistic Dr. Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) and the FBI's Will Graham (Hugh Dancy).
"THE #HANNIBAL SEASON 3 OPENER TAKES PLACE OVER FOUR DIFFERENT PERIODS OF TIME #HannibalReturnsJune4," series creator Bryan Fuller teased on Sunday.

Directed by Vincenzo Natali ("Naka-Choko," "Su-zkana"), the premiere will pickup in the wake of season 2's intensely bloody finale. "Mizumono" saw the good doctor gut Graham in heart-wrenching style while Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne), Alana Bloom (Caroline Dhavernas), and Abigail Hobbs (Kacey Rohl) lay dying. Once Graham's life threatening wounds heal, he will follow his foe to Europe, eventually landing in Florence, Italy.
"After the shocking events of the season finale, Hannibal is on the run in Europe - accompanied by his psychiatrist Bedelia Du Maurier (Gillian Anderson) - sporting a new identity, but servicing the same insatiable appetite," NBC teased. "As the lives of Will, Jack (Laurence Fishburne) and Alana (Caroline Dhavernas) converge toward Hannibal again, their deadly dance turns in startling and unexpected ways, and nothing will ever be the same again."
