The reason behind Danny's return might be mysterious, but his "need" to come back is unmistakable on Netflix's Bloodline.

"Danny needs to come home, he has to come home," explained actor Ben Mendelsohn, who plays Danny, during an interview with Vulture on March 20.

While Danny gets along with his mother, Sally (Sissy Spacek), there's a great deal of tension between him and his siblings. Danny has always sought the approval of his brother John (Kyle Chandler), though his brother does not seem willing to accept sort of pressure.

"He's a really important ally of Danny's," noted Mendelsohn. "But as we see fairly early on, John's kind of being a bit dodgy about that, too. He's not able to take responsibility for the call."

The family drama, set in the Florida Keys, essentially revolves around John's inability to "take responsibility for the call." After things take a dark and tragic turn, the Rayburn family will begin to unravel in ways it had never thought capable before.

As for a second season, Mendelsohn insists that another installment surrounding the Rayburn's is totally possible. "As far as I know, they have ideas for many a year to come," he admitted.

Even if the drama does land a second season, it's uncertain whether or not Danny will be turning along with the rest of the Rayburn clan.

The first season of Bloodline is now streaming on Netflix.
