Christie Brinkley Divorce: Ex-Husband's New Wife Claims She Left the Country Because of 'Vengeful' Model
Christie Brinkley and her ex-husband Peter Cook divorced in 2008 amid an ugly custody battle, but his new wife Suzanne Shaw claimed the model is "obsessed" with Cook and cannot move forward.
"They parted ways more than six years ago, but she can't let go," Shaw told the New York Post in an email sent on Oct. 3 from Indonesia.
According to Shaw, she has left the country for an extended period of time, to remove herself from all of Brinkley's drama - not because her relationship is on the rocks.
"I left the country to get away from Christie, not my husband," she said.
Shaw said Brinkley always seems to find new ways to interfere with her family's life.
"The black cloud of Christie Brinkley's hate [that] has hung over our lives for the five years I have been with Peter, and has taken an unhappy toll on me and my daughter's life - on all our lives. I needed a break."
Cook allegedly cheated on Brinkley with an 18-year-old neighbor and spent thousands on internet porn, according to RadarOnline. In June, Shaw and Brinkley had words for one another during an ongoing child support dispute; Brinkley told Shaw, "When you find out he's been cheating on you, I'll be here."
Although Shaw claimed to be the victim of the "vengeful" former wife, she has been anything but innocent.
In June she posted a list of "lies" she accused Brinkley of spreading on the model's Facebook page. "I posted it early," Shaw said. "Peter told me she is a late sleeper so I got a good hour or so out of it . . . ha ha."
Brinkley made no comment. However, a source said Brinkley has been grieving the recent death of her parents and is busy rehearsing for the musical "Chicago."
The source concluded, "Suzanne has been the vengeful one by posting on Christie's Facebook page."
