Giuliana Rancic Baby Is More Than She Expected, TV Host Talks The Small Details She Loves
E! News host Giuliana Rancic is happily raising her baby boy and has said the experience is far better than she expected.
Rancic, 38 and her husband Bill Rancic welcomed their baby boy Edward Duke in August 29, nearly a year after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The TV host seems fascinated over the new baby.
"He's really opening his eyes now, and when he opens his eyes and stares at you for ten minutes at a time while you're feeding him, you just realize why there's that mother-son bond and I say to myself: 'How am I ever going to say no to this kid!' He's got me. It's everything I had hoped for and more."
Previously, Rancic told People magazine that she loved the way her baby smells.
"I love the way he smells. There is nothing like baby smells," she noted. "Maybe it's the shampoo, I don't know. Babies just have the smell. I love holding him - there's nothing like looking into his eyes," she told People.
Rancic and her husband tried fertility treatments for a long time to conceive until their new baby was born via surrogate.
"[motherhood] It's awesome. I knew it was going to be great, especially because we worked so hard at having a baby and we wanted a baby so bad, but it's even better than I expected," she told Parade.
And it seems that being a mom, has also changed her lifestyle completely, at least for her sleep.
"I love my sleep. I feel very strongly about getting eight hours of sleep a night. I think that it keeps you healthy and sane, but I wondered how people function when they have to get up at all hours of the night. But you just do it. You function because you enjoy doing it. I think the biggest surprise is probably enjoying those overnight feedings. I love them and look forward to them because I get to spend time with the baby."
Rancic also says she is trying to figure out how to balance her career and being a mom.
"I see why so many moms get conflicted," she said.
" I definitely emphasize more a working mom than I ever did before, and I understand stay-at-home moms more than I ever did before because there is such a part of you that just wants to stay at home with the baby and raise kids, but you're conflicted because you love you're career. It's tough and something you have to think about."
Rancic has introduced her baby to the world via Twitter.
