Armando Iannucci has expressed interest in penning a story for the iconic BBC series, according to The Guardian, a role that would allow him to spin lines for Peter Capaldi once more.

"I'm a big fan of Doctor Who and obviously with Peter, who's loving it, it would be nice to," Iannucci The Guardian. "I've spoken off and on to them but it's a case of being able to fit something in. It's a nice thought."

While Capaldi has clearly left his swear-loving Malcolm Tucker behind, Iannucci has plans for his new Time Lord persona.

"Yes, in our conversations there was an idea we had, but it may be a wee while yet before we get round to working out when it would be," Iannucci continued. "Knowing I am committed for the next year or so, it's all on hold. 'Let's get back in touch when we can.'"

In other words, don't look for Iannucci to devise any adventures for Twelve and Clara during season 9. As for season 10, however, you never know.
