Kyle Chandler Leaves Coach Taylor Behind For John Rayburn On 'Bloodlines'

Stars Kyle Chandler (John Rayburn) and Sissy Spacek (Sally Rayburn) discussed the show's dynamic and what makes the story so compelling when they sat down with Entertainment Tonight on March 20.

"Every family has dark secrets," explained Chandler. "That's why people are going to tune in."

Some those "secrets" kept by the Rayburns are pretty dark. According to Spacek, the series manages to blend aspects of the "family drama" and "psychological" thriller to create a compelling narrative.

Set in the Floriday Keys, Bloodline follows the adult children of Robert (Sam Shephard) and Sally Rayburn. After the family's oldest son Danny (Ben Mendelsohn) comes back to town, old wounds and past trouble is stirred up for his brothers John and Kevin (Norbet Leo Butz), as well as for their sister Meg (Linda Cardellini).

"It's very easy to watch and I found it very compelling," explained Chandler, who noted that viewers should pay close attention to events which take place at the very beginning.

"I think also the first episode is the most important of the series," he added. "It's got a lot to tell."

Cast and crew are confident that a second season will soon be in the works, though Netflix has yet to officially determine the show's fate.

All 13 episodes of Bloodline's first season are now available through streaming on Netflix.
