Much to the actress' surprise, Mona did not suffer a bloody death at the hands of the notorious A. Instead, she was kept alive and brainwashed into thinking she was Rosewood's meanest teen, Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse)a.
"Honestly, when Marlene told me I was going to die, I thought I was dead. And then a couple of weeks before we filmed the finale, she called me and was like, 'OK, you're actually alive,'" Parrish explained to E! Online. "So I was like, "Yeah, I'm alive!" But honestly, I wasn't that surprised just because people who die in Rosewood don't ever really stay dead."

Parrish indicated that Mona was drugged by A, a tactic that would give her the appearance of one who has left this plane. Despite her time in A's captivity, Mona still has no idea who Charles DiLaurentis really is.
"Well, she definitely doesn't [know], but I think what could be interesting is if she has met Charles and doesn't know it," Parrish teased, according to Entertainment Weekly. "But at this point in time, she has no idea who Charles is."
