Season 6 of the ABC Family drama will experience a major time jump, allowing the Liars to go their separate ways for four years of college.
"I did say we're going to do a four-year time jump and we will honor that before the end of season six," series creator Marlene King explained to E! Online. "It's really exciting I can't wait to see the girls after they come back from college. It's going to be awesome."

Hanna (Ashley Benson), Emily (Shay Mitchell), Spencer (Troian Bellisario), and Aria (Lucy Hale) will graduate Rosewood High following episode 10, which means fans can expect the time jump to happen shortly after the final chords of Pomp and Circumstance.
However, the Liars still need to escape A's Dollhouse and put a face to the name Charles DiLaurentis. According to King, the teens will find themselves stuck in A's creepy home for a little longer than you may expect.
"We will start next season right were we left off, with the girls trapped and they don't get out immediately," King told E! Online. "Season six takes place in a very condensed period of time."
