"Two and a Half Men" actress Melanie Lynskey and her husband Jimmi Simpson are separating, according to People Magazine.

Lynskey, who plays Rose, the neighbor of Charlie and Alan in the TV series, filed for divorce from Simpson citing "irreconcilable differences" on September 25 in Los Angeles County Superior Court, according to the magazine.

The divorce documents show that they separated in April 9 of this year, just before having their 5th wedding anniversary. According to TMZ, which had access to the divorce documents, both have waived their rights to spousal support.

The couple first met in 2001 while filming "Rose Red." Four years later, they got engaged and married in New Zealand in April 2007.

The New Zealander actress, 35, jumped to fame with Peter Jackson's "Heavenly Creatures," starring as a lesbian alongside Kate Winslet.

This year, Lynskey appeared on "Eye of the Hurricane," a favorite at the Sundance Film Festival "Hello I Must Be Going," and "The Perks of Being a Wallflower."
