After the series short 13-episode opening, rumors begin to fly that the sci-fi program wouldn't make it to next fall. Despite this, the Constantine team has already penned several episodes for the next season and will pitch the upcoming story at the end of the month.

"End of April date has been set to pitch 2nd season ideas to NBC," executive producer Daniel Cerone said on Sunday. "Then they decide on a Season 2. #Constantine #SaveConstantine #Hellblazers."

If NBC doesn't give Constantine the go ahead, that doesn't necessarily mean the show has reached the end of the line.

"Does #Constantine have a future? Up to you. Rewatch. STREAM. Often. Make them notice. We want NBC but we'll take any buyer to give us life," Cerone tweeted in February.

Based on DC's Hellblazer comics, the NBC series follows the adventures of John Constantine, demonologist and master of the dark arts; Chas, John's partner in crime who has an uncanny ability to survive mortal wounds; and Zed, the mysterious girl whose visions guided the team through season 1.
