'Falling Skies' Season 5 Premiere: Final Season Return Date Announced, 2nd Mass' Future Teased [VIDEO]
Falling Skies' Mason clan will return to TNT for the last time this June.
The post-apocalyptic drama will open its fifth season on June 28 at 10 p.m. ET as the 2nd Mass enters the last leg of their battle to recapture earth.
Season 4 closed with a major cliffhanger in the wake of a seemingly Pyrrhic victory. The Espheni's lunar power source exists no longer, but the numbers of the 2nd Mass have reached critically low levels and Tom Mason is lost is space, the guest (prisoner?) of an unknown group of aliens.

When Falling Skies returns, viewers will finally find out if Tom is in the hands of the "common enemy" the Espheni warned about or if he has just discovered humanities greatest hope.
"Well, it very well may be, but what that greater common enemy was and in what way it may play a role in season 5 is really the question, and it's certainly not an enemy in the traditional terms that we may have considered it and neither is this necessarily the answer to all our prayers," showrunner David Eick teased last summer, according to the Examiner. "It's another mystery to kind of uncover over the course of the fifth season, but it is profound in terms of its impact on Tom's plans and on how their next move in defeating the enemy will take shape."
Will all the Masons make it to the series finale (find out here), or will the war end with the death of our stalwart heroes?
