NCIS: Los Angeles is gearing up for a season 7 renewal.
'NCIS: LA' Season 6 Spoilers: 'Beacon' Plot Revealed, Will Arkady Die In Russia Storyline?
The CBS drama is currently in the midst of filming the final batch of episodes for season 6 but the series production calendar has tacked on an extra eight days for shooting the season 7 premiere.
This is not an unusual set up for the Shane Brennan production. Last April and May saw the crew film for two season 6 episodes - "Deep Trouble: Part 2" and "SEAL Hunter," which was directed by actor Chris O'Donnell (Callen). Executive producer John Peter Kousakis ("Inelegant Heart," "The Frozen Lake") will direct the upcoming finale while Dennis Smith appears to have the helm for the anticipated fall return.
In the meantime, NCIS: LA will wind down its current run with a three-part finale. The story line will be set up during Diana Valentine's "Beacon" but will play out across "Field of Fire" and episodes 23 and 24.
