Doctor Who's Steven Moffat seems to have taken the TARDIS on a little joy ride to 2020.

The Doctor Who showrunner announced on Tuesday that the BBC series should still be on the airwaves five years from now. Currently entering its ninth season and tenth year since Russell T. Davies 2005 reboot, is seems Doctor Who is showing no signs of slowing down.

"I thought it would last 10 years, It's going to do a minimum of 15," Moffat told Doctor Who Magazine (via the BBC). "Ten years on, our ratings are pretty much the same. It's extraordinary."

The series opened with the Ninth Doctor (Christopher Eccleston) but has since moved on to the Tenth (David Tennett), Eleventh (Matt Smith), and Twelfth (Peter Capaldi) iterations of the Time Lord.

Capaldi is now five episodes into filming for the ninth season and it looks like the Gallifreyan will team up with several major guest stars in the first few episodes of the season. From the Michelle Gomez's Mistress to an appearance by Game of Thrones' Maisie Williams, it appears Clara and Twelve will have their work cut out for them this fall.
