A&E's hit series "Duck Dynasty" premiered Wednesday to a record breaking audience of 3.8 million total viewers for season 2 of the popular TV drama series, the best figures ever for the show.

"Duck Dynasty," a drama series that follows the lives of the Robertsons, a newly multimillionaire family despite its fortune stays true to its roots and lives in the backwoods, increased its audience 111%, according to A&E.

The show's first season was one of A&E's fastest growing series, the cable network said. The season one finale on May drew 2.6 million viewers making it cable's number one original show for the night, according to a company statement.

The series follow the Robertsons, a Louisiana bayou family that operates Duck Commander, a sporting empire that fabricates duck calls and decoys out of salvaged swamp wood.

Starring in the show are the family members who run the company: business-savvy Willie, who runs Duck Commander and his brother Jase, their respective wives Korie and Missy, patriarch and founder of the company, Phil, and uncle Si.

On Wednesday's first episode, "Driving Miss Sadie," Sadie (Willie's daughter) wants to get her driver's license and Willie, Jase and Si teach her how to drive "Robertson-style."
