Just last week Mob Wives reality star Big Ang announced that doctors found a large cancerous tumor in her throat and now Ang's sister has confirmed that she has undergone surgery and is now in recovery.

Janine Detore spoke with TMZ to confirm that Ang went under the knife on Tuesday for an eight-hour surgical procedure to remove the large tumor in her throat and luckily Ang's voice is saved.
According the site, in addition to removing the tumor, doctors also removed the reality star's lymph nodes as a precaution and Ang has been instructed not to speak for three days and after that her voice will return to normal.

Detore took to her Instagram page to give her sister's fans an update on the "extremely long' surgery and to share a heartfelt message about her love for her sister.
"To all my sisters family friends fans & well wishers my sister @biggangvh1 had a extremely long nerve racking surgery today she's now in recovery resting I wanna thank each & everyone of you for reaching out to us and praying for her & my family today," she captioned the photo.
"As I said this morning as I stand behind my sister in this picture I stood behind her today & every day we will always stand by each other through thick & thin blood is blood sister sister a bond that could never be broken now just pray for a speedy recovery I love her so much & you'll see her very soon she's a fighter #lilsis #bigsis #family #forever #sistersister."
Enstars reported that Ang was transported to a Staten Island hospital after complaining of pain in her neck. As of now it's unsure if the cancer has spread to any other parts of her body, and her family is still waiting for the PET scan results.
