The Twelfth Doctor will be sporting a new look for at least on season 9 episode.

'Doctor Who' Season 9: Series To Last Until 2020, Steven Moffat Talks Future Of Time Lord

Peter Capaldi's Time Lord debuted his navy blue coat and slacks during season 8 but, just as with "The Caretaker," the Doctor's outfit has a tendency to change as necessary. According to photos from set, it looks like Twelve will take a slightly more modern approach to his garb towards the middle of the season.

"NEW 12TH DOCTOR COSTUME! navy coat & hoodie black holey jumper plaid trousers Dr Martens shoes #DWSR," a twitter user captioned an image of Capaldi during filming (see photo here).

In addition to a new look, the Doctor will have a new attitude when season 9 debuts.

"We're not bringing him back exactly as we left him, at all, I think that was already evident at Christmas," showrunner Steven Moffat said, according to Doctor Who Magazine (via CNet). "He's left some of the burden of being a superhero of the universe behind. So I'm pushing him -- I'm writing quite funny this year -- I'm pushing him the other way."
