'Bloodline' Star Linda Cardellini Reveals What Was Most 'Uncomfortable' About Florida Keys
Cardellini, who plays Meg Rayburn on the slow burn drama, spoke with Yahoo recently about how the location of the Florida Keys was perfect for the show's plot.
"It's a very interesting place, the Florida Keys. It has all this beauty and it also sort of has this element of danger," she explained, in the video below. "I think the duality serves the story well. When you're on the water it's about as gorgeous as it gets. But it gets very hot and very steamy and a lot of the sweat you see rolling off people's faces and all over peoples shirts and wardrobes is all real!"
'Bloodline' Twitter Account Posts Ominous Message After Season 2 Renewal
Much of the plot of Bloodline centers around the beauty on the surface covering up the darkness, especially for Meg, who gives the appearance of keeping the family together while hiding her infidelity.
Cardellini suggested that she signed on to the role because of the premise of the story.
"The most interesting thing about people doing things that are terrible is you wanna understand why, 'cause it seems so hard to fathom," Cardellini explained. "And to me when they pitched the show understanding why these people could do a bad thing even though they were quote-unquote 'not bad people . . . I think most of us, if not all of us, signed on before we ever even had a full script of the first episode and we went on trust."
The actress singled out Sissy Spacek, who plays Sally Rayburn, as particularly significant in her enjoyment of filming the series.
Bloodline has received good reviews from critics and audiences and has been renewed for a second season, which will be released in 2016.
