The Baghdad incident has always been a sore point for the agent and the genius, and the situation will become much worse when a hacker attempts to take revenge for the civilian deaths associated with Walter's targeting system during "Cliffhanger."

As the hacker's plan steamrolls through any of Scorpion's attempts to stop it, Cabe (Robert Patrick) will confess to knowing more about the original attack than he previously confided to a young Walter (Elyes Gabel).

"There are things about Baghdad that you don't know," Cabe said in a new sneak peek of "Cliffhanger." "Three days before the bombs were dropped, Merrick told me of true agenda...I was concerned that [if I told you] than you would disable your software and sabotage the mission."

If Walter had attempted to halt his program, he would have gone to prison while Cabe would have to stand trail for treason. Despite the logic behind the decision, Walter will feel rightly betrayed as the weight of several impending deaths weighs squarely on the duo's shoulders in episode 21.
