Oprah's Favorite Things 2012: TV Legend Brings Famous Tradition to OWN
Christmas has come early for the legions of Oprah Winfrey devotees.
The legendary "Oprah Winfrey Show" had tons of historic and famous moments, and Oprah's Favorite Things was one of the most popular episodes every year. Though her talk show ended last year, the television icon is reviving Favorite Things for a special on her OWN network.
OWN will air "Oprah's Favorite Things: 2012," a two-hour special, on Sunday, November 18. CLICK HERE for a teaser trailer for the latest edition of Oprah's holiday bonanza.
Oprah's Favorite Things is a simple concept: unsuspecting audience members are showered with free, highly-valued gifts that Winfrey adores and uses in her everyday life. The loot has ranged from the simple - pajamas, pies and bath products - to the enormously luxurious - iPads, refrigerators and, in the case of her final Favorite Things bonanza on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," an entire fleet of redesigned Volkswagen Beetles.
For the 2012 edition, Winfrey will get some help from some celeb pals including O Magazine editors Gayle King and Adam Glassman, fashion designers Michael Kors and Tory Burch and celebrity chef Curtis Stone.
"From the electronic gadget that everyone will be clamoring for and sweet treats that can put anyone in the holiday spirit to a trip to an exotic island locale and a stylish way to get organized, Oprah's Favorite Things is jam-packed with great gift ideas just in time for the holidays including items you can only see in the television special," a press release from OWN reads. "In addition, for the first time and in a way like never before, Oprah and her team honor a group of military spouses from each branch of the Armed Forces who have no idea that they are about to get the surprise of their lives."
Another first for the holiday gift fest will be a chance for at-home viewers to win some of Oprah's favorites by texting in during the show.
