Courtney Stodden's Mother Admits She Never Talked To Daughter About Sex
Reality TV star and internet sensation Courtney Stodden, the overtly sexual 18-year-old who married "Lost" actor Doug Hutchison, 52, at age 16, never received the "birds and the bees" talk.
In honor of October's "Let's Talk Month," Jezebel asked Courtney's mother/manager Krista Keller Stodden, when and how she had the sex talk with Courtney. Krista Keller confessed that she and Courtney never had the discussion.
Krista Keller told Jezebel, "First of all a funny story, when I spoke with her I said "birds and bees," she thought I was talking about chapstick. She was wondering why do they want to know about chapstick? This conversation just happened today, we both got a great laugh out of it. I hate to tell you but we still have not had that talk yet. I think she figured it out on her own...It just was not at the top of our list....."
Although the Stodden women have never had "the talk," Kristen Keller had no trouble telling the media about the porn offers Courtney received on her 18th birthday and she encouraged her to pose for Playboy magazine.
"In the back of my mind, I knew that would probably happen when she turned 18," Krista Stodden told ABCNews of her daughter's porn offers. "We're used to this. For some reason, people are really just fascinated with her."
She also told ABCNews: "Playboy, we have a lot of respect for. There have been a lot of wonderful women who posed for Playboy that have gone on to do really great things. [Courtney's] not ruling that one out at all."
Courtney and Hutchison were one of the pairs that filmed for the show "Couple's Therapy." According to RadarOnline, Courtney revealed on the VH1 show, "I accidentally call him 'dad' - you know, Doug-dad, same thing."
"The thing about us is, we can laugh at ourselves and that was part of what we were trying to convey on our show," Hutchison said. "She can call me dad, I can say, 'I'm raising my wife.' It's all in good humor."
It's clear that Courtney now knows how babies are made. Courtney said Hutchison would like to have children, but she does not want to start a family since her career is in its beginning stages.
"He wanted a baby and I did not want a baby. I'm not against kids, but my career is my baby."
