Outlander's Geillis will continue to surprise as season 1 move forward.

The apparent witch showed off her murderous side last week, but that won't be Geillis (Lotte Verbeek) only new facet to appear in the wake of her arrest.

"For my character particularly, Geillis, she's going to be really surprising," Verbeek explained to E! Online. "You're going to see a side of her you haven't seen before. Things are going to heat up quite a bit."

One of these surprises will come tumbling out when Geillis reveals a secret from her past during "The Devil's Mark"

Geillis has proved time and time again that she is an outsider and a consummate rule-breaker, whether it she's dancing naked in the woods or having an illicit affair, and that "ballsy" nature will continue to crop up. Unfortunately, so will the consequences for her actions.

"As much as she's described as a charming, lovely person to meet at first, Geillis goes really far in order to get what she wants and the way she does it is very ballsy," Verbeek told The Hollywood Reporter, explaining that Geillis is unafraid to withstand the harsh punishments of the era. "She definitely did risk [being victim] to that stuff and she almost seems to take joy in taking those risks. It's almost sadistic."
