'Agents of SHIELD' Season 2: Will Theta Protocol Launch A Spinoff [POLL]? Coulson's Secret Opens New Doors [VIDEO]
Agents of SHIELD's Gonzales vs. Coulson drama may have revealed the direction of the series' impending spinoff.
'Captain America 3' To Be 'Avengers 2.5'? Anthony Mackie & Scarlett Johansson Explain
It seems Director Coulson (Clark Gregg) has been keeping a fairly substantial secret. Since the HYDRA insurrection, Fury's (Samuel L. Jackson) replacement has been funneling massive amounts of money into a new project titled Theta Protocol. Stockpiling bunk beds and hoping around the world on secret missions, Coulson has suddenly become an enigma to his own team.
Considering Coulson's a standup guy - thank god his own agents are aware of his upstanding character - his side project shouldn't be anything malicious. According to Camp Gonzales (Edward James Olmos), Theta Protocal might be a plan to amass super powered (and potentially dangerous) beings for the use of SHIELD. In a storyline that smacks of Secret Warriors, according to OverMental, Coulson's side project could spawn Marvel's next prime time venture.
If it did, some characters that could make the jump to the spin off include Skye (Chloe Bennet), Deathlok (J. August Richards), and any number of Inhumans.
Do you think Theta Protocol and a possible spin off are related? Sound off in the poll below!
