Naomi Grossman is one of many American Horror Story actors being submitted by FX for consideration at the Emmys; does she deserve to be nominated?

Grossman played Pepper in American Horror Story: Freak Show after playing her already in Asylum. She had a heartbreaking arc in Freak Show in which her tragic backstory was revealed as well as her ultimate future.

Despite only having impact in a few episodes, Grossman's performance as Pepper is now being considered for an Emmy nomination. FX has revealed the details of their Emmy campaign to GoldDerby, outlining all of the actors they are submitting for consideration as well as the specific categories they will be campaigned in.

If Grossman is nominated she would be in the Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie category, potentially competing against many of her costars. Other actresses being campaigned there include Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Frances Conroy and Emma Roberts.

While Grossman suffers from lack of name recognition, she was a big part of one of the best episodes of the season, Orphans. Assuming voters watch this episode and feel that she is worthy, she could potentially sneak in for a nomination.

American Horror Story has had a lot of success at the Emmys from the beginning, racking up wins for Jessica Lange (twice), Kathy Bates and James Cromwell. Actors who have been nominated but haven't won include Paulson (twice), Conroy (twice), Bassett, Denis O'Hare and Zachary Quinto and Connie Britton.

The Emmy nominations will be announced on July 16.

Meanwhile, the new season of American Horror Story debuts in October on FX.
