The Seattle Seahawks (4-2) will face off against the San Francisco 49ers (4-2) on the Week 7 edition of "Thursday Night Football." Well over the .500 mark to the surprise of many, the Seahawks are looking to compile their best record this early since 2005. Coach Pete Carroll's team is coming off a spectacular performance against the New England Patriots (24-23) and will look to build on that momentum when Seattle takes on the 49ers.

The Seahawks should have their work cut out against San Francisco's running game, which has already racked up both 200 and 300-yard games this season. The 49ers' backfield has rushed for 176.8 yards per game. Despite their lack of effectiveness in Week 6, San Francisco's offensive line is still considered one of the top run-blocking units in football.

The Seahawks have only giving up 70 yards per game against the rush. Seattle has only surrendered 3.3 yards per carry, which is the second lowest total in the NFL. If they can halt the 49ers run in the early going, then that'll put immense pressure on quarterback Alex Smith, which could ultimately lead to the game swaying in Seattle's favor.

On the offensive side for the Seahawks, running back Marshawn Lynch will look to replicate his 2011 performance against the 49ers. In his two appearances, Lynch compiled 140 yards on the ground along with one touchdown. Although he's only averaging 4.11 yards per carry, it is a considerable improvement over his 2.54 average from the teams' first showdown in Week 1. However, Lynch was the first back all season to run for 100 yards and a rushing touchdown against San Francisco.
