Survivor: Worlds Apart contestant Shirin Oskooi is hoping to raise awareness to end domestic violence in the wake of Wednesday night's controversial episode.

The latest episode of Survivor: Worlds Apart was filled with much controversy, though the exchange between Shirin and fellow contestant Will Sims had many people talking. Will had offered food to his fellow tribe members, but Shirin apparently talked with Mike Holloway and Jenn Brown about Will possibly keeping some of the food for himself.

When Will heard about this, he was shown solely arguing with Shirin, saying that she was questioning his integrity. He then got very personal, saying that Shirin had no soul and that she had nobody missing her at home, bringing her fractured family into the argument.

When Will requested to sit out of the Immunity Challenge in place of him receiving a letter from home, Jeff Probst asked if anyone had a problem with that. Shirin raised her hand, denying Will his letter as revenge for his hateful comments.

At Tribal Council, Will refused to apologize for any of his personal attacks, simply saying that his remarks were "true." Shirin, a victim of domestic violence and abuse, was obviously crushed by his comments.

With many Survivor fans riled up about Will's treatment of Shirin, the 31-year-old Yahoo executive posted on Twitter this week about domestic violence.

The National Network To End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) hopes to give a voice to those who have been victims of abuse.

"For 25 years, NNEDV has served as the national voice for millions of women, men, and children who have endured abuse from someone who claims to love them," the official website states. "Your donation will support NNEDV's efforts to end domestic violence and ensure that victims continue to have a voice for many more years to come."

Shirin has received a huge outpouring of support following Wednesday's episode, with the Tumblr blog SurvivorAddict compiling a huge list of positive messages from fans. She soon reacted to the post, stating "Speechless, SurvivorAddict."

Survivor: Worlds Apart airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
