Patience is a virtue, and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) appears to have it in spades. The LAPD detective has spent the last three seasons staring at Kensi's (Daniela Ruah) "gift", but Deeks has yet to find out what hides inside. Unfortunately, the Russian nesting doll of Densi mysteries will remain unopened through the season finale.
"The mystery of what's in the box will be revisited next season," executive producer Shane Brennan told TV Line. "Will we find out what's in it? Maybe...."

First introduced in season 4's "Red: Part One," the box was slit open by Kensi during last season's "Three Hearts." Frustratingly enough, Kensi's efforts only served to reveal another equally as baffling and inscrutable smaller box.
If fans are feeling a little put out by the long running mystery, remember that even the cast is suffering along with you.
"The only person that knows what's in there is [Executive Producer] Shane Brennan, so I am as emotionally invested as everyone else," Olsen told Entertainment Weekly, joking that he would like to break in one night and find out the truth for himself.
