'Dancing With the Stars' 2015 Cast: Derek Hough Watches ABC Show For First Time, Admits It's 'Cheesy'? [VIDEO]
Dancing With the Stars pro Derek Hough revealed this week that he watched an episode of the show for the first time, admitting that it can be a bit cheesy.
Fans Are Outraged Over The Latest 'DWTS' Elimination
Hough, who has been sidelined for the past two weeks due to multiple injuries, sat down to watch the 10th anniversary special on Tuesday. This was apparently the first episode of the show that he has ever watched.
The dancer wrote about it in his TVGuide.com blog, and even he admitted that the show can be cheesy sometimes.
Mark Ballas Reveals One Trophy That Would 'Make Up' For 'DWTS' Elimination
"Yesterday, I did something for the first time ever: I watched my first episode of Dancing with the Stars -- the anniversary special!" he wrote. "I've only ever watched YouTube clips. I've never watched it at home. And you know what? It was really fun and entertaining! There were moments where I was like, 'Is this really that cheesy?' Not in a bad way, just an amusing way, like the holograms. There were some really funny moments and it was a nice trip down memory lane."
The show has never shied away from giving fans some glitzy, old-fashioned entertainment on a weekly basis.
Hough does not know if he will be able to compete on Monday night's show, though he already has ideas brewing to provide his own contribution to Nastia Liukin and Sasha Farber's upcoming dance.
"We have the paso doble and the trio dance this week. They're both going well so far. I kind of wanna do a gladiator theme with the paso," Hough wrote. "Maybe I'll be Caesar, giving the thumbs up or thumbs down to Nastia and Sasha. I'd totally rock the haircut! I have some ideas about what we should do for the trio. The ideal situation would be for me to be fit enough to dance it with them, but the jury's still out on that right now."
With only a few weeks left until the finale, it is unknown if Hough will be in good enough shape to ever return this season.
Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
