Many Survivor fans were up in arms Wednesday night upon seeing two current Survivor: Worlds Apart contestants in the mix for Survivor: Second Chance, implying that they don't win.

'Survivor' Host Jeff Probst Weighs In On Shirin vs. Will Conflict

CBS put up the highly anticipated poll for Survivor: Second Chance on Wednesday, which features 32 people vying to get on the next season. The concept is that these are all one-time players who did not win the game.

However, two of the candidates up for voting are still in the game on Survivor: Worlds Apart. Carolyn Rivera and Mike Holloway are available to vote for, despite both of them being in the final 6 as of Wednesday night's episode. This would suggest that neither Carolyn nor Mike is winning the game.

Which 'Survivor' Player Deserves To Win The $1 Million?

Despite this, Survivor host Jeff Probst spoke with Entertainment Weekly and cleared up the issue.

"Oh my God, I didn't even think of this! You've just caught me off guard! [Laughs]," he joked of the inclusion of Carolyn and Mike.

He added, "As you would expect from Survivor, we found a way to add a little twist, a little layer of mystery, into the Second Chance voting. So the definition of Second Chance is, contestants who have only played once and never won. So, that means either Mike and Carolyn both lost, or one of them could be, ultimately, ineligible."

Probst went on to explain that if, for example, Carolyn won the game, then she would be out of the running to return for Survivor: Second Chance. This would then allow the person who came in 11th place in the voting to be bumped up as the 10th girl in the final cast.

Fans can now vote for their favorite 10 men and 10 women from this pool to return for Survivor: Second Chance. Voting is open until Wednesday, May 20 at 9 p.m. ET, which is an hour into the Survivor: Worlds Apart finale.

In the mean time, Survivor: Worlds Apart airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
