Longmire the TV show aired for three seasons on A&E before the network decided to cancel it. The show had been receiving high viewership for three years but its 18-49 demographic was too low for the network to keep it around.

Late last year, fans on Twitter launched a campaign to bring the show back in some form. Netflix then swooped in in November and picked the show up for a 10-episode fourth season.

Cast and crew are currently about halfway through production on Longmire season 4.

Longmire season 4 is scheduled for release on Netflix in the fall, though the streaming site has not yet announced a specific release date.
