The ABC program gained notoriety for its strong female characters during its freshman season, but the Marvel venture received criticism for its Caucasian dominated cast. It seems Agent Carter will look to rectify this problem now that the network has confirmed their sophomore run.

"Diversity in season 2 was brought up today. And not even by me! Which is a first...," actress Hayley Atwell (Peggy) tweeted on Thursday.

During season 2, Peggy Carter will swap 1940s NYC for post-war Los Angeles, a move which promises a host of new and interesting characters. Unfortunately, it may also mean the loss of some NYC fan favorites.

"Dedicated to the fight against new atomic age threats in the wake of World War II, Peggy must now journey from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous assignment yet," ABC teased. "But even as she discovers new friends, a new home -- and perhaps even a new love -- she's about to find out that the bright lights of the post-war Hollywood mask a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect."
