The Star Trek star's foray into the dark world of NBC's gorgeous psychological thriller may work to inform a crucial turning point in the Dr. Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen)/Bedelia Du Maurier (Gillian Anderson) relationship.
Quinto will join the Hannibal cast as one of Du Maurier's patients, according to IGN, and his appearance in the flashback-laden "Antipasto" could brand him as the psychiatrist's most infamous client (after Hanni, of course).

NBC recently revealed that the June 4 episode will involve "glimpses into the past help inform [Hannibal's] relationship with Bedelia," and there is probably not a more important moment in their friendship than the disturbing death of the man who nearly strangled Dr. Du Maurier. The incident was only mentioned once back in season 1, but the premiere will hopefully shed a little light on Hannibal's presumed involvement.
