'Survivor' 2015 Cast: Where Does Mike Holloway Fall In Overall Winner Ranking? [POLL, VIDEO]
Now that Mike Holloway has his million dollar check after winning Survivor: Worlds Apart, fans are now arguing over where he falls in the overall winner ranking.
Mike's victory this season was perceived positively by many members of the Survivor fans community, due to his challenge dominance, crafty Idol play and overall likability. But where should he place overall in the pantheon of Survivor winners?
At the start of the game, Mike was blue collar strong and helped carry his tribe to victory through three Immunity Challenges. Along the way, he made strong bonds with Dan Foley and Kelly Remington though he did irritate people like Rodney Lavoie Jr. and Lindsey Cascaddan. Heading into the merge he was pretty strong with his blue collar tribemates, including Sierra Dawn Thomas.
Will 'Old School' Players Struggle In The New Season of 'Survivor'?
Jenn Brown pulled off a successful Hidden Immunity Idol play after the merge, resulting in Mike losing one of his best allies in Kelly. After leading his alliance (which now included Carolyn Rivera, Tyler Fredrickson and Will Sims II) in voting out Hali and Joe, Mike did make a bit of a blunder at the Survivor Auction when he withheld his money to buy letters from home. He ultimately caved to the pressure.
After this, Mike found himself ostracized from his strong alliance. Jenn was voted out and Mike was on the bottom with Shirin. When Mike won Immunity, the group targeted Shirin but before she was voted out, he bluffed on potentially giving Shirin his Idol, resulting in two votes being cast Dan's way.
For the remainder of the game, Mike was on the outside looking in but relied on winning Immunity Challenges, which forced the alliance of six to turn on their own. After Tyler was voted out, Mike won every single challenge for the rest of the season. With Dan and Sierra voted out, the Final 4 was down to a vote of Carolyn and Rodney. Mike decided to help Carolyn and tie the vote, forcing them to make a tie-breaking fire challenge.
Carolyn ended up winning the challenge sending Rodney out. While Carolyn was perceived of as a potential strong threat to win the game, Mike wound up receiving six of the eight jury votes to win, while Carolyn and Will got one apiece.
Mike was shown to be very paranoid and definitely had to rely on challenge wins to stay in the game near the end, but his dominance and general likability helped him win the $1 million.
So where does he rank in your winner list? Ultimately, it depends on what you value in the trifecta of challenge dominance, strategic mastery and social gameplay.
The next season of Survivor will air in the fall on CBS.
