'Doctor Strange' Rumors: Gender-Swaped Role Coming From Marvel? Actress Eyed For The Ancient One [VIDEO]
Doctor Strange casting is underway and Tilda Swinton is on the docket.
The Marvel film will be headlined by Benedict Cumberbatch, but The Hollywood Reporter recently announced that Swinton may jump into the gender-swapped role of the Ancient One.
A Tibetan mystic, the Ancient One canonically enters Dr. Stephen Vincent Strange's life when the MD seeks out his (now her) aide in healing his shattered hands. At first wary of helping such an egotistical person, the Ancient One eventually teaches Strange the ways of sorcery after the neurosurgeon proves his worth.
