With the intentions of garnering their first victory, the Los Angeles Lakers (0-3) will take on the Detroit Pistons (0-2) on Sunday night at the Staples Center. While the Pistons have also yet to rack up a win, they'll be facing the Lakers minus the recently injured Steve Nash, who'll be out a minimum of one week with a non-displaced leg fracture.

With the likes of Greg Monroe, Brandon Knight and Rodney Stuckey, Detroit does sport a talented roster. While the Pistons do possess a handful of on-the-rise players, the showdown between the two teams will most certainly lie on the performance of the veterans, as Kobe Bryant will look to outduel small forward Tayshaun Prince. Although Prince hasn't been the force to be reckoned with that he was during Detroit's championship run, he does currently lead the team with 15 points per game.

Despite Los Angeles' overall struggles, Kobe is still averaging 30.7 points and shooting at 61.4 percent. In the team's last game against the Clippers, Bryant performed masterfully scoring 40 points in 42 minutes, but still had no qualms about expressing his disappointment over the Lakers' season opening woes, according to NBA.

"It's particularly hard for me, because I'm not the most patient individual in the world. But you have to be. You have to stay persistent. You have to stay committed to what you're doing, and just keep on trucking."

Guard Steve Blake also expressed his frustrations with the team's disappointing start.

"It's not acceptable for us to be losing like this, but we will come in and we will work harder," he said.
